From the Neches River Rendezvous to the Round Top Music Festival, there’s plenty of summer fun to be had the first weekend of June.

Kerrville Folk Festival

Kerrville: May 24-June 10
The 47th annual international songwriters festival features more than 100 songwriters and their bands at Quiet Valley Ranch.

Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show

Kerrville: May 24-June 24
The nation's finest gourd artists compete in a variety of categories in this popular annual show. 

Alpine Cowboys Baseball

Alpine: May 28-July 18
Alpine's tradition of small-town professional baseball began in the 1940s and continues today at the beautiful, historic Kokernot Field, the "best little ballpark in Texas." 

Llano Open Pro Rodeo

Llano: June 1-2
This year marks the 83rd annual event, a full weekend of bronc bustin', bull riding, barrel racing, mutton bustin', and team roping. A dance follows the rodeo on Saturday night. On Saturday morning, entries are always a great surprise at Llano's largest annual parade featuring cars, trucks, bikes, children, and horses galore. Join the town as it crowds the streets around the Courthouse Square for this popular kick-off event. A Boy Scouts barbecue follows on the town square. 

Drag Racing—Funny Car Chaos!

Amarillo: June 1-2
Drag racing takes over Amarillo with this first annual event. This two-day family friendly horsepower extravaganza features the wildest drag racing machines from across the southwest. Over 100 race cars will be on the property battling at 200+ mph. Stimulate your senses with horsepower and nitro as side by side 5,000+ horsepower racers battle for more than $25,000+ in prize money. 

Plaza Palooza

Fort Worth: June 1-2
A free two-day festival takes center stage with chalk artists, a popular line-up of music, visual street artists, and other fun entertainment at Sundance Square.

Gatesville Shivaree

Gatesville: June 1-2
The first weekend in June officially marks the end of the school year and the celebration of the Gatesville Shivaree at Faunt Le Roy Park. This year’s festival includes arts and craft vendors, a barbecue cook-off, fun runs, contests, and military exhibits. Event also features local favorites including hot dog- and watermelon-eating contests, and a wiener-dog race. Contest winners earn the opportunity to grab fistfuls of cash in a cash cube. 

Frijole Days

Salt Flat: June 2
Come to Frijole Ranch for a day of West Texas-style fun. Enjoy live music from bands, ranger-led hikes, house tours, mule packer demonstrations, and crafts. Bring a picnic lunch, sit beneath the pecan trees, and enjoy an afternoon of music, West Texas culture, and fun.

Victoria Bach Festival

Victoria: June 2-9
Enjoy tremendous classical music performances with the 41st annual festival. 

ATLAS Ride

Lampasas: June 2
Ride with the 2018 Texas 4000 Team on day 1 of their 70-day journey from Austin to Anchorage, Alaska. With 25- and 50-mile ride options, every level of cyclist can join this bike ride through the hill country while raising money and awareness for the organization's mission to cultivate student leaders and engage communities in the fight against cancer. Celebrate at the finish line festival with delicious local barbecue, live music, beer, wine tastings, festival activities, a presentation by the Texas 4000 team, and more.

LBJ Fishing Day

Stonewall: June 2
An annual fishing clinic for children and families on the Pedernales River at the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site. The first Saturday in June is fish without a license day in the State of Texas. The goal is to provide a free opportunity to introduce the sport of fishing to children as well as create a safe environment for parents and children to enjoy the outdoors together. 

Food Truck Championship of Texas

Graham: June 2
A free, all-day battle of the best, food trucks from across Texas gather in the one place big enough to hold all the food, friends, and fun—America’s Largest Downtown Square. The fourth annual event offers plenty of activities to entertain the entire family on the square, including the Possum Pedal Bike Ride, children's activities, live music, art walk, and of course a lot of food. Later that night, a concert will be held at the Young County Arena. 

Neches River Rendezvous

Lufkin: June 2
Experience the beauty, challenge, and pleasure of the Neches River during this annual 10-mile canoe trip. Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenic surroundings and wildlife, or observe the numerous birds, squirrels, wild hogs, and alligators. 

Standup Round Up Comedy Festival

Dallas: June 3-15
A three-round comedy competition where comedians from around the world meet in one city to compete for a purse of $5,000 (winner takes all). 

Round Top Music Festival

Round Top: June 3-July 15
Talented young artists, mentored and coached by faculty, participate in orchestral and chamber music concerts at the stunning Round Top Festival Institute.
