Big Bend Ranch Rodeo

Alpine: Aug. 10-11 
A sanctioned rodeo by the Working Ranch Cowboy Association featuring evening rodeo performances by real working cowboys—including a cutting competition and reining horse competitions—plus dances each night.

Sonora Outlaw Rodeo & Sutton County Days

Sonora: Aug. 10-11
Friday and Saturday night rodeos, a Saturday night dance to Radney Foster, a Saturday morning parade, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, children's activities, and a 5K.

Oldham County Roundup & 5K Color Run

Vega: Aug. 10-11
The weekend around Oldham County Courthouse Square features a Friday night street dance followed by a free barbecue meal, a 5K color run, a parade, softball tournament, and ranch rodeo on Saturday. 

Summer's Last Blast

Vernon: Aug. 10-11
Enjoy a car show, an antique car exhibit, a redneck car show, a swap meet, concert, BMX extreme air bike show, burn-out contest, an antique tractor exhibit and engine, and a cruise night. 

Quilt Plano

Ladies Kingfish Tournament

The first all-women's fishing tournament in Texas was organized more than 30 years ago on South Padre Island.

Brenham: Aug. 11
This countryside, neighborhood festival at Chappell Hill Lavender Farm features wine and food tastings, crafts, vendors, music, lavender cuisine, demonstrations, and more.

Grape Stomp at Pedernales Cellars

Stonewall: Aug. 11-12, 18-19, 25-26
Celebrate the grape harvest at Pedernales Cellars by stomping grapes, listening to live music, and enjoying award-winning wines. 

Vitruvian Salsa Festival

Addison: Aug. 11
Bring your dancing shoes to Vitruvian Park's Amphitheater every Saturday in August from 6-10 p.m. for live bands, DJs, salsa lessons, and gourmet food trucks. 

El Camino Real de SUP

Bastrop: Aug. 11
Texas’ original down-river race is for beginners, elite paddlers, and weekend warriors. The race extends six miles from Fisherman's Park.

Doggie Splash Day

Mesquite: Aug. 11
Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department invites all dogs and their owners to the 15th annual event at Vanston Pool—an opportunity for dogs and their owners to cool off, compete for prizes, or just play at the pool. Dog owners are invited to swim with their pets, if desired. 

Texas Outlaw Stock Car Race

Mesquite: Aug. 11
Enjoy the racing season at the Southwest's most famous dirt track. With its half-mile, oval clay track, Devil's Bowl Speedway hosts the best in auto racing. 

Shakespeare Under the Stars: "Romeo and Juliet"

Wimberley: Through Aug. 11

Spirit of '45 Day

Lubbock: Aug. 12
The Silent Wings Museum will celebrate with free admission and children's activities. Spirit of ’45 Day provides an opportunity for America to say “Thank you!” to those who served in uniform and those who supported them on the home front during the WWII era.
