Web Extra: Battle on the Bernard

A friendly tug of war competition, the Battle of the Bernard, comes to the banks of the historic San Bernard River, Saturday, March 27, at the FM 2611 Sportsman Bridge. Food and fun for the family in a scenic location with ample parking lends itself to a real spring break splash. B.O.B. the Pelican invites everyone to join in the festivities and pull for pride. Or, come early, bring a lawn chair, and smile as a satisfied spectator. Hosted by the West of the Brazos Communities—Sweeny, West Columbia, and Brazoria—16 teams enter (free registration) for the right to claim the West of the Brazos Mayors’ Challenge trophy.
