Wichita Falls Vineyards and Winery is 7 miles east of US 287, on South Peterson Rd., 3 miles south of FM 367, near Wichita Falls. The tasting room and gift shop are open Mon-Sat 10-5:30, Sun 2-5:30. Call 940/855-2093; www.wichitafallsvineyardsandwinery.com.

Homestead Vineyard & Winery at Ivanhoe is just west of TX 273, 7 miles north of Bonham, 903/583-4281; www.homesteadwinery.com. Homestead Winery at Denison is at 220 W. Main St., 903/464-0030. (Next to the winery, Devolli’s Italian Restaurant, 903/463- 3800, offers wine tasting and sells Homestead wines by the bottle.) Homestead Winery at Grapevine is just east of Main St. at 211 E. Worth, 817/251-9463. Also in Grapevine, GrapeFest, one of the country’s premier wine festivals, is held every September (Sep. 11-14, 2008).
