Beer Bread

3 c. self-rising flour (usually available in grocery stores alongside other flours)

1/4 c. sugar

1 bottle cold beer (the colder the better)

1/2 stick butter or margarine

Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix with a fork just until ingredients are combined and flour is thoroughly moisten. Batter will be lumpy.

Scrape into a greased and floured standard loaf pan, and spread into corners. Dot top with pats of butter. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Best served hot.
