Long Family Rock Cookies

1 c. sugar

2/3 c. butter, softened

2 eggs, beaten

2 1/2 c. flour

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 T. hot water

1 lb. raisins

1 lb. pecans, chopped

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs. Add flour, seasonings, and baking soda. Mix well; add raisins and pecans. Drop by tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool, roll in powdered sugar. Allow to harden for at least three days before serving.
