Texas Highways readers are a special breed. Not only are most of you born-and-raised here (or wise transplants), but you also are among the proudest Texans. That is why the world should see the Lone Star State through your eyes.
The deadline to enter is Feb. 15.
The Thin Line Fest hosts the state’s largest documentary film festival. It also includes concurrent music and photo competitions.
The magazine, in conjunction with Denton’s 11th annual Thin Line Fest, April 18-22, gives readers a chance to turn their love for the state into a 10-minute documentary film for the fest’s new True Texas Travel Experience category. There could be $5,000 in cash and prizes in it for you, as well as bragging rights.
Create a traditional documentary or show your fun, witty side with a mockumentary. Maybe create an intriguing story line for a docufiction or docudrama entry, or simply share the joys of a recent outing with family and friends. We want to see your view of the people, places, and wide-open spaces that define our beloved state.
If your film is selected, you’ll get to strut your stuff on the red carpet, and all finalists and honorable mentions will be highlighted on TexasHighways.com and on Texas Highways magazine’s social media accounts.
Pretend you have your own Texas travel TV program. What Texas travel story will you tell? Where will you send curious visitors? How will you show others the magnificence of our state? Ready? Set? Go!
