An Evening with Toni Tipton Martin, Carver Museum.
New York Times bestselling author Toni Tipton Martin – “The Jemima Code: Two Centuries of African American Cookbooks” – discusses the contributions of black women in the creation of American cuisine. The Star of the Republic Museum’s “Enduring Spirit: African Americans in 19th Century Texas” exhibit includes artifacts and documents sucn as slave records, freedmen contracts and more to look at the first African Americans in Texas who were here first as free men. Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day, Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, San Angelo
