Celebrate the rich, beautiful heritage of the United States-Mexico border at the annual Borderlands Heritage Festival in El Paso. The event takes place at the Chamizal National Memorial, which commemorates the settlement of an over 100-year dispute between the two countries, and offers dance and musical performances from mariachi bands, cultural art exhibits, and educational opportunities for all ages. Learn what life was like on the border years ago through interactive activities like ranching and fishing demonstrations and presentations from vaqueros, as well as hands-on opportunities to make corn husk dolls, pictographs, and more. The festival is a great introduction to the long history that has shaped the border.
