A light tunnel at the Dallas Zoo

During the holiday season, once the animals are fast asleep, the Dallas Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland of light—with more than 1 million twinkle lights illuminating the grounds. In addition to stunning light displays highlighting the zoo’s inhabitants, each night presents a variety of events to warmly welcome those seeking some festive flair, from light shows and photo ops to craft workshops. And of course, no holiday event would be complete without a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus himself. Tickets include a full day’s admission to the zoo, so attendees are encouraged to visit the animals beforehand— to get their fill of paws before the Claus. Not a parent? Not a problem. On “adults only” night, attendees 21 and older can enjoy specialty cocktails, lawn games, and more.
