Watch as an array of colors float through the wide-open Texas sky at Plano’s 40th annual Balloon Festival at Oak Point Park. Hot-air balloons of all shapes and sizes—more than 50 total, including depictions of characters like a pirate parrot and Simba from The Lion King—launch from Oak Point Park and fly over the city. But the sights don’t end there: a team of parachuters performs every evening of the three-day festival, landing in the middle of the launch field, and there are balloon glows on Friday and Saturday night. There are also fireworks, live music, and a 1K, 5K, and 10K fun run during the festival.
