To celebrate the various influences of Texas’ unique culture, San Antonio’s Texas Folklife Festival, now in its 48th year, offers a weekend of music, cuisine, and fun. From June 7-9, more than 60 skilled artisans, such as blacksmiths and pottery makers, hold demonstrations of their craft. There are also five stages for music and entertainment and living historians dressed in period clothing from throughout Texas’ history. Handmade Texas wares are for sale all around the festival, and delicious authentic food from many of the countries that influenced Texas are for sale—from Germany and Greece to the Philippines.
