Four hundred women anglers bring their fishing talents to Port Aransas for the annual Texas Women Anglers Tournament, and you don’t want to miss this year’s women-only competition. Boaters and fisherwomen float on themed boats for a chance to win the best dressed boat and best dressed captain contests, and participants fish for blue and white marlin, tuna, sailfish, and more at the three-day event. The tournament was founded in the ‘80s to support the Purple Door, a women’s shelter in South Texas, and the proceeds from this year’s tournament also go toward the charity. Come out to see the expert fishing and colorful boats and costumes.
