Laufey (pronounced lāy-vāy) is a 24-year-old, Los Angeles-based singer, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose jazz songs are about young love and self-discovery. Raised between Reykjavík and Washington, D.C. with annual visits to Beijing, the Icelandic-Chinese artist grew up playing cello as well as piano and became hooked on the jazz standards of Ella Fitzgerald after digging through her father’s record collection.

Ronny Chieng is a stand-up comedian, actor, and correspondent on “The Daily Show.” He starred in “Crazy Rich Asians,” Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Disney’s “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” NBC’s “Young Rock” and “M3GAN.” He has two stand-up comedy specials on Netflix.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra in Concert

The world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra brings timeless classics like “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Chattanooga Choo Choo,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” “String of Pearls,” and “Tuxedo Junction” back to the stage. Even 80 years after founding his famous orchestra, Glenn Miller’s music is alive and well, as Miller was the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the swing era of the ‘30s and ‘40s.

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar, known for its annual holiday local arts experience in Austin every November and December, returns with its fourth annual May Market this spring. The arts-shopping event runs every weekend, Friday through Sunday. Blues Festival

CapTex Triathlon

All levels of athletes from top-ranked professionals to first-time triathletes compete in this triathlon, which includes the USA Paratriathlon National Championship. The race begins with a swim in Lady Bird Lake with beautiful views of the downtown Austin skyline. The bike course takes athletes right to the heart of downtown Austin and directly into the Texas capitol. The race concludes with a run through Butler Park and the Palmer Events Center before the rousing finish and post-race party at Vic Mathias Shores (Auditorium Shores).
ATX Television Festival

As the first festival devoted to television’s history and future, the ATX Television Festival functions like a traditional film festival with showings of new series, current hits, and cult favorites. Pond and Garden Tour

Take a self-guided tour of ponds and gardens in and around the Austin area. Streams, fountains, waterfalls, dragonflies, koi, amphibians, and aquatic gardening steal the show. Some of these ponds and gardens are even certified wildlife habitats. Proceeds support local ponds, aquatic gardens, parks, and educational programs. Kids 12 and under are free. Pets are not allowed on the tour.

Hauser: Rebel with a Cello Concert
