The Rahim Quazi Duo presents “Sounds of the Sun.” Surrounded by nature’s natural acoustics and sublime beauty, the performance features a simulation of light to darkness and darkness to full light.

Mother’s Day Tribute: Trio Los Reyes and Nayelli Peña in Concert

Mariachi group Trio Los Reyes performs songs to honor mothers, including “Gema,” “Canto a la Madre,” “Hermoso Cariño,” and “Las Mañanitas.” Vocalist Nayelli Peña makes a special appearance by singing hits from Linda Ronstadt’s first Spanish language album, “Canciones de Mi Padre,” and Vikki Carr recordings.

The Kendall County Historic Jail was constructed in 1887 and served for a century as the county jail. In recent years, the Friends of the Kendall County Historic Jail have restored the space, bringing it back to life as a one-of-a-kind museum of Kendall County history. Tours are offered every Saturday.

Flag Run 5K

Show your American pride by wearing red, white, and blue and bringing a flag for this Fourth of July run. Each runner receives a T-shirt and finisher medal. Food, drinks, music, aid stations, and timing are available at the run, which begins and ends at Main Plaza.

Kendall County Fair

The Kendall County Fair Association hosts the 118th annual Kendall County Fair. Head to the fairgrounds for a weekend of good old-fashioned community fun, with vendors, a Queen’s Pageant, a rodeo and livestock show on Friday and Saturday, and Bull Riding Extreme on Sunday. A parade on Main Street takes place on Saturday. Attendees can also see exhibits in the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall.
