Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival

Hundreds of visitors flock to Bowie for the annual Chicken and Bread Days Heritage Festival, which honors Bowie's history and community. See the championship fiddler's contest, Piston Heads Auto Club Show, quilt and art shows, and live music. Kids love coop activities such as the egg toss.

Bowie Community Development and the Bowie Chamber of Commerce encourage and promote this annual event of shopping locally and shopping small. “Blue Saturday” falls just after Black Friday on the weekend of Thanksgiving. Mark off your holiday shopping list and give back to the merchants who support the community all year long. Shoppers receive tote bags, balloons, and other Shop Small merchandise.
