Kerrville Triathlon Festival

Started in 2011, Kerrville Tri was founded with the idea of bringing out the beauty and welcoming nature of the Texas Hill Country. Since then, thousands of participants have crossed the finish line to collect their medals. Famed for its 70.3-mile distance triathlon on Sunday, the weekend also offers seven other events including rookie and sprint distance races on Saturday and a quarter distance on Sunday.
Hill Country Gun Show

Find sales of new and used guns, knives, coins, cutting boards, ammo, and other items. All proceeds go toward supporting local veterans.
Welcome Home Fest

Quiet Valley Ranch, 3876 Medina Highway
Produced by the Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation, Welcome Home Fest is a smaller, more intimate, and more relaxed music festival than the Kerrville Folk Festival. All the shows are presented on the Threadgill Theater Stage and ticket sales are capped to match this capacity. Performers this year include Adrianne Lenker, Sir Woman, Lomelda, and Kinky Friedman.
River Festival and Annular Solar Eclipse

The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to come out and celebrate the fourth annual Kerrville River Festival. The event offers a fun environment for friends and family and occurs on the same day as the annular solar eclipse. In addition to eclipse viewing and programming, event activities include a kids’ area, food, drinks, and live music.
Chalk Festival

Celebrate the creativity of artists and the craft of chalk art at this annual street painting festival, where visitors can enjoy a kids’ chalk zone, family activities, great food, and music.
“Betting On Bloodshed”

The new manager of Las Vegas’s Flying Flamingo Hotel and Casino is cleaning house and getting rid of all the usual suspects—and one of them might just want him dead. Playhouse 2000 presents this interactive murder mystery by Will Murdock, where audience members vote to determine the show’s surprise ending.
Haunted Ghoul Pool

Kerrville Municipal Olympic Pool, 601 Olympic Drive
Enjoy a night of goosebumps, spooks, and screams at the Olympic Pool, which is transformed into a ghoulish haunted house. There are family-friendly tours in the evening, followed by scarier tours—when the haunted attractions come to life—for older kids and adults.
Texas Fleece and Fiber Festival

Billing itself as “Texas’ premier yarn, fiber, fabric, and farm festival,” this event celebrates fiber producers, artists, teachers, and enthusiasts. Vendors offer products and art, teachers and speakers present classes from fiber arts to animal husbandry practices, and pioneer demonstrations range from sheep herding to washing and dying of fleeces. There are exhibits and several smaller events.
The Bizarre Bazaar

This event features local artists and crafters selling one-of-a-kind items. Also, join in the Fall Crawl shopping event for prizes throughout the weekend and a chance to win a seasonal giveaway.
Pumpkin Run 5K and Harvest Festival

Come for the fun and stay for the festivities. Along with the 5K run/walk, expect lots of candy, a bounce house, face painting, carnival games, a cake walk, and other fall-themed activities.
A Night at the Museum

Costumes are encouraged for kids (adults may dress up, too) at this fun-filled, family-oriented event that includes music, food trucks, and spooky entertainment.

Texas Furniture Makers Show

The Texas Furniture Makers’ Show is an annual statewide competition of the finest custom furniture makers in Texas. The show is open Tuesdays through Saturdays,, with an artists reception on the evening of Nov. 11.

Holiday Lighted Parade and Courthouse Lighting Ceremony

Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main St.
Officially welcome the holiday season with a lighted parade and the arrival of Santa Claus on his signature fire truck. The annual parade commences at the corner of G Street Bridge and Water Street and ends at the Kerr County Courthouse. After the parade, enjoy a Christmas program, caroling, and the lighting of the courthouse and 45-foot-tall tree.
Light the Island

The City of Kerrville Parks and Rec Department decorates the trees on Tranquility Island with lights to usher in holiday spirit at Louise Hays Park and the River Trail. And every Saturday in December, it “snows” on the island. Bring your family and make new traditions and memories.

Running Home for the Holidays 5K

Schreiner Mansion Holiday Tours

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Schreiner Mansion opens for holiday tours during the month of December to benefit the Hill Country Youth Orchestra. Enjoy wassail, cookies, carolers, and a historic home tour. Tours go on every half hour with 1:30 p.m. being the last tour.
