MillHouse Summer ArtFest

MillHouse McKinney at the Cotton Mill, 610 Elm, Suite 1000
Beat the heat with art, wine, food, and fun. Explore juried art (indoors) by local artisans showcased against the grandeur of century-old architecture. Featured artists offer acrylic, oil, watercolor, pottery, and jewelry. Pit Pals Barbecue and other vendors bring delicious food. The facility is large and spacious with plenty of room to browse, shop, and relax with family and friends. Proceeds benefit the MillHouse Foundation to support small businesswomen in creative fields.
Dinosaurs Live!

Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary, 1 Nature Place
Encounter the 46-foot tall T-Rex and 10 new life-size animatronic dinosaurs along the nature trails at the 16th annual exhibit. The exhibit always gives families and friends a fun, educational activity to enjoy together. See the dinosaurs move and hear them roar. An outdoor fossil dig is available for kids. The dinosaur trail is great for jogging strollers, but not suitable for strollers with small wheels or wheelchairs.

Experience the historic district in downtown McKinney on a charming trolley with a trained docent. This tour features the buildings and homes of the commercial and residential historic district. While enjoying the architecture, you’ll hear about some of the significant people who made their mark in McKinney.

This is the oldest and largest monthly trade days and flea market in North Texas. Shop from more than 400 vendors who offer almost anything you can imagine. Find unique gifts, delightful home decor, trendy clothing and accessories, garage sale items, antiques and collectibles, and specialty items along with many fantastic food concessions at this open-air market. Free admission.

Country Lane Community Holiday Craft Sale

Multiple craft items created by local residents of the Country Lane Senior Community are presented in this annual holiday craft sale. Some of the featured items include rope bowls, greeting cards, wreaths, needlepoint, painting, quilting, knitting, jewelry, and books by local authors. There are hourly raffles of select craft items for all event goers.

Enjoy a uniquely McKinney Christmas celebration with neighbors and visitors from near and far. Admission is free and open to the public. Enjoy live holiday music, seasonal food and drink, vendors for holiday shopping, and a community Christmas tree lighting event.

The beauty of the holiday season is brought into nature. Bundle up and experience one of the most unique holiday events in North Texas. Guests see lights and holiday decor along a half-mile Heard nature trail. In keeping with the Heard’s role as a nature preserve, this light display is designed to enhance, rather than overpower, the sanctuary’s natural beauty. Also, you’ll get to travel back in time to experience 10 life-size dinosaurs along a nature trail. Children and the young at heart enjoy the opportunity to take a photo with Father Christmas and Mother Nature in a festive setting.
