Since 1947, anglers have been drawn to this fishing tournament in the hopes of catching the biggest redfish, barracuda, or any other offshore or inshore fish. Texas Women Anglers Tournament

The Texas Women Anglers Tournament is a women-only, family-run fishing tournament held every summer in Port Aransas. It was founded in the 1980s with the mission to raise funds for the Women’s Shelter of South Texas, now named The Purple Door. In 1989, 18 boats registered for the tournament with over 50 women anglers. Today, an average of 70 boats and over 400 women anglers gather in Port Aransas to fish the tournament.
