Earth Day Family Festival and Picnic

A full schedule of events is planned for this free festival, including hourly cooking classes, yoga, tai chi, story time, farm photo safaris, garden explorations, chicken and bee demonstrations, activities, and games. Community partners give hands-on creative and learning opportunities at creation stations for kids and adults. Recipe For Success Foundation Healthy Eating Ambassadors help kids plant veggies, Define Body and Mind encourages visitors to live their best life through movement and mindfulness classes scheduled on the half hour, and celebrity chefs and the Recipe for Success culinary team give hands-on cooking classes scheduled on the hour. Families are encouraged to picnic. Besides just-harvested produce from the farm, the regular First Saturdays Hope Farm Stand includes Houston makers, artisanal foods, and cookbook authors. The Sunnyside Community Center is serving a barbecue lunch for a donation, and St. Arnolds Brewery pours samples of beer and root beer.
