Cinco de May Goliad

Goliad is the birthplace of General Zaragoza, the Mexican general and hero of Cinco de Mayo. Each year, Goliad throws a large Cinco de Mayo celebration. This year marks the 76th anniversary of the fiesta and has free entertainment, featuring Grammy-winning Tejano and conjunto artists, ballet folklorico, and mariachi performances. Events include an International Barbeque Cookers Association barbecue cookoff, "Ride for Education" fun run, and Piñatas in the Park. Food and craft vendors provide delicious foods of all types and shopping fun.
