The Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix returned to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin for the eighth year in early November. Record-setting crowds turned out to see driver Lewis Hamilton secure his sixth world championship, a feat not achieved by any driver since the great Michael Schumacher. COTA continued its tradition of infusing Texas character into the mammoth event with a barbecue-eating championship and performances by dozens of local and regional music artists throughout the weekend.
