“Impressions of Wildflowers” Masterclass

The exhibit “Impressions of Wildflowers: A Family Connection Through Printmaking, Fiber, and Word by Catherine, Maryruth and Vera Prose” is a multigenerational collaboration drawing from roughly 200 of Vera Prose’s (b. 1904-1998) pressed flowers dating back at least 60 years. Learn the craft at this artist-led workshop.
“Papers: New Works by Bernie Diaz”

This exhibition of small-scale abstract paper assemblages and collage-derived paintings reflects on identity formation, fragmentation, and historical revision. Through layering, overlapping, and embellishing words and images, the compositions obscure origins, interrogate meaning, and underscore the tension between clarity and obscurity. An opening reception takes place on July 11 and an artist talk with Bernie Diaz occurs on July 12.

“Texture and Time: Digital Impressionism Meets Geometric Abstraction in Glass and Tile” is series of works that stretches the materiality of mosaics from repurposed shards of stained glass and vitreous tile to Mexican Talavera and fine Turkish marble. Contemporary mosaic motifs are upended by graffiti scrawls and striking portraiture of urban art icons.” An opening reception takes place on Aug. 8, followed by a talk with artist J. Muzacz on Aug. 9.

Lighting of the Square

Kick-off the holiday season with the annual Lighting of the Square on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Downtown holiday lights remain lit every evening through January 1st. Entertainment during the event is provided by the Uptown Carolers. Toy donations to the Georgetown Police Department Blue Santa and to Williamson County Brown Santa are encouraged.
