Patriot’s Run
Nov. 7
Red Tail Pavilion, 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway
The Patriot’s Run 5K and 1-mile Fun Run takes place at the Red Tail Pavilion, Oak Point Park, home of the Plano Flags of Honor. Tentative plans include a Presentation of Colors by Allen High School MCJROTC and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Congressman Keith Self, followed by a race warm-up, the fun run, and the 5K. Wheeled participants have a five-minute head start. After the race, enjoy an awards ceremony, sponsor booths, food, music, and vendor prize giveaways.
Plano Flags of Honor

Oak Point Event Field, 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway
More than 1,000 American flags are set up in a field to express gratitude to veterans and first responders. Each flag tells the story of heroes whose lives were devoted in service to others, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. The display also honors family members, friends, and neighbors for their service and sacrifices. Special programs are held throughout the week to recognize the community’s heroes including programs from veterans organizations, musical performances, patriotic re-enactments, and static displays.

Get ready for a flavorful day celebrating the best in food and drink. Sip and sample from 100-plus award-winning wines, explore a selection of fine spirits, and indulge in mouthwatering bites from some of Plano’s top restaurants. Enjoy live culinary demos from the chefs at Lombardi Family Concepts, shop unique finds from local vendors, and soak in the vibrant festival atmosphere.
‘Neath the Wreath

The Junior League of Collin County hosts its annual holiday gift market. The group’s largest fundraiser has raised over $5.4 million over the last 30 years. Almost 10,000 shoppers are expected, and over 125 merchants sell unique holiday and home décor, ladies clothing, accessories, gifts, jewelry, children’s items, and gourmet food. A Ladies Night Out preview party takes place on Wednesday ahead of the market.

Holiday Market

This event showcases unique handcrafted holiday gifts. Exhibitors have jewelry, handmade wood items, candles and soaps. There’s also a wonderful selection of tamales, brownies, cupcakes, jams, nuts, and dips for gifts or holiday parties. In addition, Collin County seniors stock the Hip Hip for Gray booth with a variety of crafts including quilts, baby items, and ornaments.
Lights on the Farm

Experience the wonder of dazzling lights and festive holiday displays as you stroll along a scenic quarter-mile path through the Heritage Farmstead Museum. Snap holiday photos, meet Santa Claus, and enjoy seasonal treats like s’mores, hot cocoa, donuts, and popcorn, all set to the sounds of joyful holiday music.
Deerfield Holiday Lights

Deerfield , Preston Road and Coit Road, off Legacy Drive
Deerfield, a subdivision in Plano, welcomes visitors to its neighborhood holiday light show. Most homes turn their lights on at dark. While there are many entrances to the neighborhood, a suggested starting point is near the back of the neighborhood off Quincy. Entrances off Legacy have the longest lines and weekdays have fewer visitors.

St. Andrew Methodist Church, 5801 W. Plano Parkway
Celebrate the season with an intimate evening of music by women composers and inspired by reflection, gratitude, and shared traditions. Featuring piano, strings, and woodwinds, this one-hour chamber concert includes selections from Fanny Mendelssohn’s “Das Jahr” alongside Catherine McMichael’s “Hymns of Peace” and “Hymns of Thanksgiving” as well as other chamber works exploring traditions, family, and holidays. A reception follows the performance.
“A Tuna Christmas”

Experience Christmas in the third-smallest town in Texas. Radio station personalities Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on various Yuletide activities, including the annual lawn display contest, while Joe Bob Lipsey’s production of “A Christmas Carol” is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens, some from “Greater Tuna,” join in the holiday fun.
“The Gift of Christmas”

A highlight of the Christmas season in Prestonwood, this multimedia event is complete with special effects, a nearly 1,000-member cast and choir, and a live orchestra performing an original musical score. “Scrooge: The Musical”

North Texas Performing Arts Community Theatre presents this holiday musical featuring a fast-paced and full-length live production of the acclaimed movie that closely follows the plot of Charles Dickens’ acclaimed book “A Christmas Carol.” There’s also pre-show Christmas carol singing and other festivities. Shows take place at the Courtyard Theater (Dec. 9-13) and Willow Bend Center of the Arts Rodenbaugh Theatre (Dec. 16-20).

Santa’s Sleighin’ Holiday Event and Market

Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit and support local small businesses at this market organized by Lively Local Markets. Shopping kicks off at noon. Santa, Frosty the Snowman, and a snow princess appear at The Boardwalk, with Santa’s elves providing holiday glitter tattoos. There are also interactive games with prizes, a candy cane-making demonstration by Pappabubble, a kids activity station, and holiday-themed drinks and bites.

“White Christmas”

Start your 2027 racing season with a 10K, 5K, or fun run that offers a flapjack-filled finish. This event winds through the scenic trails of Oak Point Nature Preserve. Plano Symphony Orchestra in Concert: “Chasing Dreams”

Enjoy a concert featuring conductor Gonzalo Farias and Paul Aguilar on violin and viola. Farias is an orchestral conductor, award-winning pianist, and educator who serves as associate conductor of the Houston Symphony. Hailed for his commanding and expressive performances, Aguilar was named Second Prize Laureate and Audience Prize winner in the Senior Division of the 2025 Sphinx Competition. He is a member of the Houston Symphony viola section.

Plano Symphony Orchestra in Concert: “The Italian Connection”
Feb. 20

This concert features conductor Filippo Ciabatti and violinist David Kim. Ciabatti, a native of Florence, Italy, has guest conducted orchestras across Europe and the Americas, including the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Irving Symphony Orchestra, San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, and members of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Italy). Kim has served as concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999. The Illinois native began playing the violin at age 3 and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School.
