While I don’t know the purpose of the unofficial holiday, I shall not protest. Still, I wonder. Was there was a huge rally of deviled egg eaters who demanded its day in the spotlight.
Maybe the holiday is coming from the egg, pickle, paprika, mayo or mustard councils? Or the Council of WhateverElseYouWouldPutInADeviledEgg?
It doesn’t really matter, though. The deviled eggs are always at the heart of a party, even since back in the day in Rome where this was a luxurious first course. It is the ultimate party goer. That’s probably why it has its own special day, and I’m OK with that.
Here are a few deviled egg recipes that you can find along your road trip. What restaurants have deviled eggs on their menu? Or maybe you have a recipe of you’re own that you’d like to share. Maybe you have a stake in the battle to decide ‘Which brand of mayo is better?’ Either way, we’re always glad to hear from you.
