Traces of Texas reader Kyle Terry submitted this fascinating photo of the L.D. Heath family in 1905. The family lived a few miles north of Emory, which is a small town in Rains County, about 65 miles east of Dallas. The photo reveals so much about the way this family lived. I love the traditional “dogtrot” design of the house.
