The ever-popular East Austin Studio Tour—a free self-guided art experience that attracts some 30,000 attendees annually—is back for two weekends this fall: Nov. 16-17 and 23-24. Local nonprofit Big Medium, which is dedicated to cultivating artists and the contemporary arts throughout Texas through community events like this one, engages more than 1,000 artists and 100,000 attendees each year through EAST, its sister event WEST, and various other annual programs. Last year’s event included 277 artist studios, 67 galleries, 185 exhibitions, 42 events, and 10 libraries—all presented to help tour-goers choose their own adventure as they peruse Austin’s art scene.
