We used to call Port Aransas a sleepy fishing village.

“My favorite destination is a trip down to the Port Aransas area for some fun and relaxation. My wife and I love to stroll down the beach and play in the water.” —Kelly Karlik, Garland

But in the past decade, new accommodations, a golf course, and multiple fine-dining options have diversified the appeal of Port A, which anchors the northern tip of Mustang Island. But simple pleasures such as biking, kayaking, fishing, bird-watching, beach-strolling, dolphin tours, seashell-searching, and beachfront picnics still define this easy-going coastal destination. Take the free ferry from Aransas Pass, or access the island from the south via Corpus Christi.
