Election Day in the North Texas town of Eastland in the early 1890s. This photo was sent in by Janice Chambers. Her great-great-grandfather, W. Q. Connellee, was mayor of Eastland at this time. Janice did not indicate if he is in this photo, nor do we know the specific date. Election Day must have been a big thing in Eastland back then, a time to put on your best clothes, break out the musical instruments, and celebrate!
