From Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic to the Huntsville Prison Rodeo, Inman’s Kitchen & Catering has fed hungry crowds across Texas for nearly 60 years. Opened in 1967 by Lester Inman and Myrtle Oestreich, the Llano restaurant and catering company serves up classics, including brisket and ham, as well as Inman’s famous turkey sausage, proudly advertised on the side of their truck while catering an April 1986 wildflower tour through the Hill Country. Inman’s ran a fleet of five such vehicles, able to cater to crowds in the thousands. The restaurant has since changed its name to Inman’s BBQ and Catering, expanded to Marble Falls, and replaced its fleet of wagons with full trailers. But the offerings remain the same as they were 40 years ago, when an advertisement called Inman’s Kitchen “A Good Place To Eat.”
