She's performed on many late night TV shows, starred in and co-created the award-winning off-Broadway hit "Old Hats," and has written four acclaimed musical stage biographies.

Walt Wilkins in Concert

San Antonio-born Walt Wilkins has been called a genius, more than once, and a writer the caliber of John Steinbeck, and his voice as comfortable as a pair of old blue jeans. His crafting of story-songs, hard-edged vocals to sing them, and a plaintive guitar have made him a fixture of the Texas music scene (and Nashville before that). He’s put his magical touch on recordings by new and veteran artists, too many to count.

He has released 12 albums over the last 20 years, with songs placed in television and film projects including The FX series "Justified" and the Michael Douglas film "Solitary Man." He has toured as the opening act for Alison Krauss and Union Station and won the Song of the Year award at the Austin Music Awards for his song “Broke Down.”

Woody Russell in Concert

Past Bugle Boy Talent Trust recipient Woody Russell returns with his latest musical project. Russell is a "guitar-centric singer-songwriter with an unapologetic art-rock ethos." He has released a catalogue of diverse recorded work that spans from the Americana infused fare of his first album, "As Simple As That," the rootsy "Salt," a highly praised blues and soul album, "Up Against It," followed by the rich instrumental/orchestral collection, "Big Sky." Later releases offered up funkier pop-jazz shades with "Delicious Days" and "Carry It Up."

To the delight of their longtime loyal fanbase and first-timers alike, just about every Buttercup performance is akin to an interactive art show, packed with many fresh, fun, and often outright joyfully absurd surprises and memorable songs and moments of impeccable musicianship. Buttercup's Bugle Boy debut spotlights their just released album "Specks," described by the band as a collection of autobiographical songs born out of the pandemic that explore "what it means to be alive at this moment in tumultuous history."
