International Peace Market/Mercado de Paz

Celebrating the tradition of open-air markets, the Mercado de Paz brings people together as community, not consumers. Local and visiting artisans and merchants offer handcrafted gifts with themes of peace and justice, diversity, and cultural and environmental preservation. Also, enjoy food and performances of live music and spoken word. There are over 90 vendors offering traditional indigenous wear; textiles of Mexico, Guatemala, Latin America and Asia; folk art; the ancient arts of straw and feather painting; Zapotec weavings and rugs; ancestral remedies and plants; artwork in clay, tin, giclée and canvas; natural body products; jewelry of chakira, metal and gems; leather and fiber arts; vintage clothing, jewelry, and clayware; Aztec calendar readings; and products from around the world.
