"Creative Activism Now"
The Czech Center Museum Houston's "Creative Activism Now" exhibit helps children learn about the Holocaust while discovering their creative potential. The project—a workshop and exhibit—tells of the lives of young people interred in the Terezín Concentration Camp in the Czech Republic during the Holocaust. These youth, despite being held in the concentration camp, didn't lose hope and pushed through to protest the Nazi's mission by way of art. While visiting the exhibit, guests can create an artifact, image, or video that discusses injustice and critical social issues in history or today for the museum to list on its website and exhibit. The most inspiring pieces of artwork receive awards. The top student prize is a laptop, while adult prizes include gift baskets.
