A note regarding COVID-19
The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service hosts this exhibit where visitors navigate four centuries of American history while experiencing the joys and hardships of journeys past. “Journey Stories” brings to life the personal paths of people whose travels have led from the Mayflower to the Northwest. “We are very pleased to be able to bring ‘Journey Stories’ to the city of McKinney,” says Karen Zupanic, Museum Director. “We hope that residents will share their personal journey stories with us and/or will consider writing their own memoirs of their travels.” Alice Parker, local author and past-president of the Mockingbird Poetry Society, serves as the memoir-writing workshop leader. The summer Memoir Writing workshops take place on June 5 and July 8.
